Out of the ashes

Out of the Ashes is a gripping and emotional historical drama that tells the story of Holocaust survivor Gisella Perl. Christine Lahti portrays Perl, a young Jewish woman who was taken to Auschwitz along with her family. She is separated from her husband and parents upon arrival at the concentration camp and soon discovers that her medical skills are her only hope for survival.

Perl is put to work as a doctor in the camp's infirmary, where she witnesses the atrocities of the Nazis firsthand. After the war, Perl is eventually liberated along with the other surviving prisoners.
