Vallathol Narayana Menon was a modern Malayali poet. He was a traditional classicist poet who had transformed himself into a popular Romantic bard. Vallathol outlived the other two members of the Great Trio and went on to become one of the most recognized poets of modern India. He was a nationalist poet and wrote a series of poems on various aspects of the Indian freedom movement.
